Sci-Tech Assistance to Regional-Industry Factories in DPRK

Pyongyang, October 18 (KCNA) -- Teachers and researchers in the field of education and scientific research of the DPRK are intensifying scientific and technological assistance to regional-industry factories, according to Rodong Sinmun.

Teachers and researchers of Kim Il Sung University developed a method of preserving the original color of pickled and dried vegetables and introduced it into the foodstuff factories in Songchon and Kimhwa counties. And they established a new method to shorten the time of testing microbes and make a proper assessment of the quality, thus providing a guarantee for improving the quality of products.

Researchers of the food research institute of the Food and Consumer Goods Research Institute under the Ministry of Regional Industry invented a new method of pressing oil from peanuts at the Jongphyong County Foodstuff Factory. They established a process of raising the rate of extracting oil and made it possible to produce various peanut products.

Similar achievements are being made by researchers at the Kyongsong County Foodstuff Factory and the Sinpho City Foodstuff Factory. -0-
