Pyongyang, September 24 (KCNA) -- On the day of Chusok (Harvest Moon Day), a folk holiday of Koreans, they prepared various dishes.

Among them are Songphyon (a half-moon-shaped rice cake stuffed with beans and flavored with pine needles).

On all other folk holidays, Koreans enjoy this dish. Such a rice cake is more delicious when it is made from new rice on the day of Chusok. The rice cake prepared on the day is called Chusok Songphyon.

Every region of the country makes unique Songphyon of various shapes and sizes.

In Kangwon Province, they make such a cake from potato farina and groundnuts.

Chusok falls on the 25th of September (the 15th day of the eighth lunar month) this year. -0-
