78th Founding Anniversary of DPRK Observed in Different Countries
Pyongyang, September 16 (KCNA) -- Celebration meetings, book and photo exhibitions and film shows were held in China, Laos, Myanmar, Pakistan, Switzerland, Austria and France from September 4 to 8 to mark the 78th founding anniversary of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
Present at the events were personages of political and social circles and masses of those countries.
Screened at the film shows were a film dealing with the history of the DPRK, which has emerged victorious by dint of self-reliance, and videos showing the Korean people’s proud successes in the struggle for the comprehensive development of socialism and the happy looks of children.
Speeches were made at the events.
Personages of the China World Peace Foundation, the volunteer army research branch of the Chinese society for strategic and management studies and various units of China said that the DPRK has made a journey shining with independence in politics, self-support in the economy and self-reliance in defence under the guidance of the Party for the past 78 years.
They noted that the traditional China-DPRK friendship is the invincible friendship provided by the leaders of the elder generation of the two countries and the precious wealth to be jointly adhered to by the peoples of China and the DPRK.
A senator from the Pakistan People's Party, the chairperson of the Pakistan-Korea Friendship and Solidarity Committee and a vice-chairperson of the National Party of Pakistan said that the foundation of the DPRK was a historic event which declared the birth of the first people's democratic state in the East.
The chairman of the Switzerland-Korea Committee and the chairman of the Society for the Promotion of the Relations between Austria and DPRK said that the Korean people are recollecting with great pride and self-confidence the glorious history of the Republic spanning nearly 80 years, adding that today the international position of the DPRK is growing stronger day by day under the guidance of His Excellency
