Programme on Anti-imperialist Independence Advanced by President Kim Il Sung

Pyongyang, October 16 (KCNA) -- It has been 100 years since President Kim Il Sung formed the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU), the first communist revolutionary organization of the DPRK during the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle.

At the inaugural meeting of the DIU on October 17, 1926, the President made a report "Let Us Overthrow Imperialism" and advanced the fighting programme of the organization consistent with the stand on anti-imperialist independence.

In the programme he clarified that in order to achieve Korea's liberation and independence, it is necessary to defeat Japanese imperialism and, furthermore, overthrow all imperialism.

History taught a serious lesson that one should fight against aggressors with bayonets.

But it had been a lesson for a long time only because it failed to properly understand the vulnerability of imperialism, only being frightened by its "mightiness".

As long as imperialism exists, the source of war, aggression and plunder, the world can never be peaceful. Without overthrowing imperialism, it is impossible to build an ideal society free from exploitation and oppression desired by the whole mankind and a peaceful new society.

Therefore, President Kim Il Sung advanced the programme on anti-imperialist independence, declared a decisive battle to overthrow Japanese imperialism and the confrontation with all the imperialists in his teenage. -0-
