Woljong Temple

Pyongyang, September 24 (KCNA) -- In Mt Kuwol of South Hwanghae Province, the DPRK, there is Woljong Temple, a Buddhist temple showing the excellent architecture of Korean ancestors.

The temple, built more than 1 000 years ago, is situated in Jolgol at the foot of Asha Peak, the mountain's second highest peak.

The big temple is of great historical significance for its buildings with elaborate structure and forms.

In September 1997, Chairman Kim Jong Il visited Mt Kuwol turned into a recreation ground for the people. He expressed satisfaction over the fact that the temple was kept in its original state and gave an important instruction to preserve it better. -0-
