Musan Mining Complex Prepares for Big Blasting

Pyongyang, October 2 (KCNA) -- The Musan Mining Complex in the DPRK set a bold goal to conduct the blasting of five million cubic meters of earth for the first time in the country and is stepping up the preparations for it. The complex has already conducted several rounds of large blasting this year.

If this goal is attained, it will provide a sure material and technical guarantee for ensuring the current and prospective production while saving a lot of manpower and materials.

Workers of the complex conducted dozens of rounds of survey in close contact with the relevant unit to select the blasting area with good prospect of mining and concluded in a short span of time the tunneling preparations for full-caving blasting.

A meeting was held on the spot on Oct. 1 to declare the start of tunneling a pit for charging explosives for the successful blasting of five million cubic meters of earth.

Present there were Kim Kwang Nam, minister of Metallurgical Industry, officials concerned and officials and shock brigade members of the complex. An outline for socialist emulation was announced and speeches were made.
