Railway Transport Sector Concentrates Efforts on Coping with Disastrous Abnormal Weather

Pyongyang, July 10 (KCNA) -- The railway transport sector of the DPRK is concentrating all efforts on the work to cope with the disastrous abnormal weather.

The Ministry of Railways and relevant units established a system for immediate mobilization in case of disaster and dispatched competent officials to the spots to find out dangerous sites and take measures for them.

After grasping the conditions of tunnels, railway bridges and retaining walls, they are ensuring the safety of train operation while mobilizing all forces and means on the work to eliminate the defective elements.

They are strengthening surveillance over the possible risk places, repairing structures in a qualitative way and taking measures for the safety of subgrade while conducting the careful management of electric tramways and railway substations. -0-
