Efforts Made to Put Farming on Scientific Basis of Higher Level
Pyongyang, August 27 (KCNA) -- Farms in Kangwon Province of the DPRK strive to put the manure and cultivation of crops on a higher-level scientific basis under changing weather conditions.
They have actively applied the method of managing paddy water and exterminated harmful insects on a sci-tech basis to provide good conditions for the growth of crops.
They are taking foresighted measures to increase the per-hectare yield before harvest while applying plant growth promoters properly and managing the water-conducting ditches regularly to enhance the root activity of paddy rice.
They are increasing the thousand-kernel weight and the ripening rate by clearing drainage channels and waterways and manuring and cultivating paddy rice and maize in a proper way.
They have taken steps to introduce the experience gained by advanced units in manuring and cultivating crops in conformity with the actual conditions and to minimize the damage caused by downpour and heavy rain. -0-
