KCNA Commentary on Japan's Moves to Expand Powder Magazine

Pyongyang, September 30 (KCNA) -- Recently, the Japanese reactionaries have buckled down to the extension of gunpowder houses for the Self-Defense Forces under the pretext of supplementing ammunition for "bolstering up the defense capabilities".

The Japan SDF with 1 400 gunpowder houses across the country is planning to additionally build at least 130 gunpowder houses under the standardized designs by 2032.

At present, the construction sites for 65 gunpowder houses were settled and the designs and construction projects are being conducted. Of them, three gunpowder houses were already completed by August this year. The designing for the remaining 65-odd gunpowder houses is to start later in 2027 after choosing their construction sites.

It is reported that the scale of extended gunpowder houses will increase more than scheduled under the three security documents, including the "national security strategy", the Japanese authorities are planning to formally revise within this year.

The extension of gunpowder magazine means that Japan is anticipating a long-drawn-out war.

It is by no means fortuitous that the present chief executive of Japan has asserted from the outset of the year that Japan should make preparations for a long-drawn-out war.

This is vivid evidence that Japan, a war criminal state, made a war for aggression and its prolongation a fait accompli and has made preparations for bolstering up its sustained combat capacity.

The Japanese reactionaries are now getting more frantic in the open scheme to realize the war strategy for materializing their reinvasion ambition.

Since the emergence of Takaichi regime, the Japanese authorities have openly pursued such extremely dangerous neo-militarist policy as the revision of the Three Principles on Transfer of Defense Equipment and Technology for operation of the "war industry" and its operational guidelines and the massive increase of "defense budget" the preceding regimes did not dare to do.

They are also hell-bent on rounding off the war preparations for aggression, investing huge amount of funds in the development of underwater-lunched hypersonic missiles, massive deployment of attack drones and introduction of AI into the SDF command system and other countermeasures to the "new combat mode" and the additional deployment of long-range missiles with "capability of attacking enemy base".

As well-known to everyone, Japan as a war criminal state is banned to have regular army, to say nothing of the right to take part in any war or right to belligerence. Nevertheless, it is scheming to increase its gunpowder houses in all parts of the country with a view to a long-drawn-out war, after getting fully prepared for a war state.

The militarist serpents' moves to increase the gunpowder houses for entering the road of overseas aggression at an early date are self-destructive acts of turning the whole of the archipelago into a huge powder box.

It is undeniable historical fact that the Japanese militarists, who ignited a bloody war of aggression under the ambition to dominate the whole world a century ago, were plunged into the mud of a long-drawn-out war in Asia and finally defeated.

The Japanese neo-militarists should clearly understand that if they are to make desperate efforts to realize the wild dream of the "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere", oblivious of the bitter lessons of the past, they will only face the second defeat of Japan. -0-
