Kim Il Sung Prize Conferred on Composer
Pyongyang, October 10 (KCNA) --
Sol Thae Song, who grew up to be a well-known composer and creative worker under the care of the Workers' Party of Korea, created many famous songs, including "Ode to the Motherland", "We Love Our Country" and "Song to the Motherly Party", to greatly encourage the patriotic struggle of the Korean people and contribute to enriching the treasure house of the Juche-oriented musical art.
In particular, "Song about the County" is a masterpiece of national treasure as it impressively sings the great pride in our great country and all-people thoughts and feelings to always love and glorify the dignified DPRK with all the devoted efforts.
A ceremony was held on October 9 to award
Present there were Ju Chang Il, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Hyong Sik, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly, and officials, creators and artistes of the State Merited Chorus.
