Show of Apples and Pears Held in DPRK

Pyongyang, October 14 (KCNA) -- A show of apples and pears-2026 was held at the Pyongyang Hostel for Women's Union Members on October 13.

Officials and working people in the fruit farming sector directed their efforts to putting the fruit production on a scientific, intensive and modern basis to increase the per-hectare yield and improve the taste and quality of fruits.

On display were different kinds of apples and pears produced by fruit production units across the country.

The show was held in such a way that the jury consisting of ordinary persons evaluated sweetness, sour taste, wetness and aroma of apples and pears of various strains on display.

Highly appreciated were the apples and pears produced by Pukchong County, the Taedonggang Combined Fruit Farm, the Toksong Apple Farm and Onchon, Myonggan, Pyongyang and Sondok fruit farms. -0-
