Myohyangsan Medical Appliances Factory

Pyongyang, August 19 (KCNA) -- There is the Myohyangsan Medical Appliances Factory, a hub of the medical appliance industry, in Hyangsan County, Jagang Province of the DPRK.

The factory has put its production and management on a scientific and IT basis. It produces dozens of kinds of modern medical appliances including general dental treatment apparatus, all-purpose operating table, defibrillator, life-saving apparatus and micro-injector.

The convenient consulting bed, delivery bed and operating table for gynecologic section developed by the factory are comprehensively equipped with all functions necessary for treatment. In particular, the universal ear-nose-throat-treating chair is the latest medical equipment which enables a doctor and a patient to see simultaneously the computer images obtained by endoscope and patients to receive telemedicine service.

Under the wise leadership of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, the factory has developed into the one which plays a leading role in the country's medical appliance industry.

Respected Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un visited the factory on August 19, 2018. He said that it is needed to radically raise the material and technical foundations of the public health sector in order to make the people fully enjoy the benefits of modern medical service, and gave instructions on turning the factory into an icon and important one which plays a leading role in the medical appliance industry and took important measures for it.

The remodeled and modernized Myohyangsan Medical Appliances Factory was inaugurated on October 4, 2020 on the occasion of the 75th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea. The inauguration of the factory made it possible to give fuller play to the advantages of the Korean-style socialist system and recorded one page in pioneering the new development of the country's medical appliance industry.

The factory produced the varieties of modern medical equipment and appliances on the principle of lowering cost and improving quality and sent them to ri hospitals and clinics in Samjiyon City and preventive and curative medical institutions at all levels across the country.

The factory won the Lather No. 26 Model Machine Prize and the title of the model technical innovation unit. It has made technical innovations to develop various parts of medical equipment in recent years. -0-
