National Symposium Marks 100th DIU Founding Anniversary
Pyongyang, October 14 (KCNA) -- The Korean people significantly commemorating the 100th formation anniversary of the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU) are filled with the revolutionary will to steadily carry forward the 100-year history of the ever-victorious revolutionary cause of Juche, woven with great pioneering and succession, into another greater 100-year history, true to the ideology and leadership of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.
A national symposium took place at the People's Palace of Culture on Tuesday to mark the 100th anniversary of the formation of the DIU.
Present there were Ju Chang Il, secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, officials of Party and administrative organs and working people's organizations in Pyongyang and theoretical information workers in the fields of science, education, literature and arts, media, revolutionary relics and institutions for training Party cadres.
The symposium heard papers deeply explaining and proving the profound significance of the formation of the DIU and the theoretical and practical issues arising in more dynamically advancing the revolutionary cause of Juche under the uplifted banner of independence against imperialism and of socialism by inheriting the tradition of the DIU.
Speakers said that the formation of the DIU is a historic declaration that proclaimed a fresh start for accomplishing the popular masses' cause of independence, the cause of socialism.
The formation of the DIU was an expression of the firm readiness and ardent will of the young communists of the new generation to hold in high esteem the most outstanding leader who would lead Korea to great victory and glory and realize the country's liberation and the ideal of mankind under his leadership without fail, before the birth of an organization with a new name and programme.

The formation of the DIU was an epochal event that decisively broke with the old trend of sycophancy and dogmatism and declared a new hewing out of the popular masses' revolutionary cause, the socialist cause which advances on the principle of independence.
The road of building socialism under the harsh challenges and pressure of the hostile forces was a series of battles decisive of the life and death. But thanks to the ever-victorious treasured sword of independence handed over by the DIU, the Korean people could emerge victorious despite the snowstorm and the gunfire and grow to be heroic people building a paradise even on the ruins.
Speakers said that the WPK is a Juche-type revolutionary party which inherited the glorious tradition of the DIU.
The WPK is the most militant political organization which thoroughly guarantees the monolithic ideology and leadership of the leader by inheriting the tradition of unity based on the monolithic center established by the DIU.
It is the most dignified and authoritative revolutionary party which has set an example in building socialism and communism along the immutable orbit of independence by carrying forward the far-reaching idea put forward by the DIU.
Today the WPK is suppressing the arrogance of imperialism and performing its historic mission at the centre of building an equitable and just multi-polar world under the wise guidance of respected Comrade
Speakers said that the Juche revolution is a sacred cause which has recorded the ever-victorious history under the uplifted banner of independence against imperialism and of socialism held high by the DIU.
The formation of the DIU was an eruption of the steadfast stand against imperialism and the faith in independence of the excellent sons and daughters of Korea to defeat imperialism even at the cost of their lives without hesitation, and it was a historic event that defined the anti-imperialist, independent character of the Juche revolution.
Growing stronger today are the revolutionary stand and will of the WPK never to tolerate the high-handed and tyrannical practices of imperialism while regarding independence against imperialism as the first invariable state policy.
