Wreaths Laid at Liberation Towers and Cemeteries of Soviet Army Soldiers
Pyongyang, August 15 (KCNA) -- Staff members of the Russian embassy here visited the Liberation Tower on August 14 to lay a wreath at it on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of Korea's liberation.
The guard of honor of the Korean People's Army lined up at the tower.
Present at the wreath-laying ceremony were Charge d'Affaires ad Interim Vladimir Topekha and staff members of the embassy.
The national anthems of the Russian Federation and the DPRK were played.
A wreath in the name of the Russian embassy was placed at the tower amid the playing of wreath-laying music.
The participants paid silent tribute to the fallen fighters of the Soviet Army who fully displayed the noble internationalist spirit in the sacred war for Korea's liberation. Then they looked round the tower.
On the same day, they laid a wreath and flowers at the cemetery of fallen fighters of the Soviet Army in Sadong District.
Meanwhile, members of the Russian embassy visited the monuments to the Soviet Army soldiers in Tongnim, Sinuiju, Uiju, Wonsan, Hamhung, Nampho and Haeju. And members of the Russian consulate general in Chongjin visited the liberation tower and the cemetery of fallen fighters of the Soviet Army in Chongjin and Rason. -0-
