Schoolchildren Meet with War Veteran
Pyongyang, July 25 (KCNA) -- A meeting of a war veteran and schoolchildren took place at the Mangyongdae Schoolchildren's Palace on July 24 in the run-up to the 73rd anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.
When a war veteran Choe Song Sun arrived, schoolchildren warmly welcomed her, presenting bouquets.
Amid the narrative poem "We Are the Descendants of Victors", a video dealing with the struggle of the heroic soldiers and members of the wartime children's guard units who brought about a victory at the cost of their lives and left legendary tales of miraculous war victory.
The schoolchildren's ardent desire to steadily carry forward the traditions of loyalty and patriotism under the uplifted flag of the Korean Children's Union by embodying the spirit of the defenders of the country in the 1950s was fully manifested in the song "Song of Boy Guerrillas" and others.
The veteran requested the youngsters to firmly carry forward the history of victory of Juche Korea, remembering the brave soldiers' shouts of faith which had resounded on the heights in flames. This redoubled the participants' strong will.
Present there were Paek Un Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, officials of the youth league and schoolchildren in Pyongyang. -0-
