Anniversary of Korea's Liberation Observed Abroad

Pyongyang, August 29 (KCNA) -- Seminars took place in Belarus, the UK and Brazil on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of Korea's liberation.

Present there were officials and members of the Belarus Association of Friends of Korean People Named after Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, the Belarusian Group for Solidarity with the DPRK, the New Communist Party of Britain, the Korean Friendship Association UK, the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, the Brazilian Institute of Paektu and the Brazilian Center for the Study of the Juche Idea.

Speeches were made at the seminars.

The chief of the Belarusian Group for Solidarity with the DPRK praised President Kim Il Sung, noting that he set forth the line of guerrilla-based armed struggle, rallied all the people under the banner of anti-Japanese war and thus carried out the great cause of national liberation.

A reporter and speakers, including the chairperson of the Korean Friendship Association UK, said that the Korean people made a great contribution to the victory of the international anti-fascist struggle by defeating the Japanese imperialists. They added that August 15, 1945 has become a really significant day for not only the Korean people but also the world revolutionary people.

Personages of the Brazilian Institute of Paektu and the Brazilian Center for the Study of the Juche Idea said that the victory in the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle clearly proved that if one believes in the strength of the people and fights against imperialism by relying on them, one can defeat any formidable enemy and that only armed struggle can defeat aggressors. Today the Korean people are proving again the truth established 80 odd years ago in practice, united close around Comrade Kim Jong Un, they added. -0-
