Measures Taken to Minimize Damage from High Temperature
Pyongyang, August 7 (KCNA) -- Agricultural workers in the DPRK strive to minimize crop damage caused by high temperature.
Farms across the country have made water caretakers of paddy fields enhance their role and intensified farming guidance such as lowering temperature of water in paddy fields and soil by rational water control methods and supplementing various nutrients.
They have also informed the farmers of varieties of major harmful insects and damage caused by high temperature, introduced substitute agrochemicals with good insecticidal and fungicidal effects and installed light traps in farm fields to protect crops.
Agricultural workers are applying leaf fertilizing in a scientific way according to farm fields and plots to minimize the damage. -0-
