Railway Transport Sector Fulfills First Half-yearly Freight Transport Plan

Pyongyang, July 2 (KCNA) -- Workers in the railway transport sector of the DPRK are full of enthusiasm for increased transport.

Thanks to their devoted efforts, the first half-yearly freight transport plan at the Ministry of Railways was carried out.

The Pyongyang Railway Bureau set an example in carrying out the plans.

The locomotive engineers of the West Pyongyang Service Brigade of Engine have improved the technical control over rolling stock and reduced the turnaround days of freight cars.

The Hamhung Railway Bureau introduced technical innovation proposals to increase the speed and quality of the repair of freight cars and Chongjin and Kaechon railway bureaus composed and allocated trains rationally.

The Rason Railway Bureau, too, carried tens of thousands of more tons of freights than planned in the first half of the year by scrupulously organizing the locomotive-by-locomotive engagement and the loading and unloading and making effective use of the existing capabilities. -0-
