Anniversary of Promulgation of Law on Sex Equality Marked in DPRK

Pyongyang, July 31 (KCNA) -- All the DPRK women significantly marked the 80th anniversary of the promulgation of the Law on Sex Equality.

Officials and members of the women's union laid bouquets and flowers before the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill and in different parts of the country and made bows to them.

Various political and cultural events took place in Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, provinces, cities and counties to mark the 80th anniversary of the promulgation of the Law on Sex Equality, adding to the pride of women.

Officials and members of the women's union in Pyongyang Municpality, Kangwon and North Hamgyong provinces and other parts of the country held story-telling meetings and met with mothers who brought up brave soldiers who participated in the overseas military operations.

At the meetings, the performers talked about the outlook on life of the ordinary women who are devoting themselves to the society and the collective and beautifying the large socialist flower garden, giving a continuity to the patriotic family customs and national traits and expressed thanks to the motherly Party which glorifies the life of their sons who devotedly defended the dignity and honor of the country.

At a performance, officials and members of the women's union in South Hwanghae Province also sang the praises of the loving care and trust of the benevolent father who convened a grand meeting of the DPRK women this year and had a photo taken with them.

Sports and amusement games were played in different parts of the country, adding joy and optimism to women.

A yut-game was played by women's union officials and members at the Moranbong Youth Park in Pyongyang.

Women spent a pleasant time, playing sports and amusement games at streets, villages, parks and pleasure parks in Jagang Province, Rason Municipality, etc. -0-
