Land Management Work Intensified

Pyongyang, July 9 (KCNA) -- Nampho Municipality of the DPRK is concentrating its efforts and means on land management.

The municipal land and environmental conservation bureau completed the planned dredging of the River Taedong by raising the operation rate of dredgers and trucks, and Hanggu and Chollima districts finished the repair of embankments in the River Taedong.

Onchon County carried out the projects for concreting embankment, building anti-tidal dykes and planting turfs, and Taean and Kangso districts paved roads with pitch to ensure their safety and modernity.

The municipality enhanced the role of ecological environment protection institutions to prevent environmental pollution and finished the construction, remodeling and repair of environmental protection facilities at factories and enterprises and the renovation and establishment projects of dozens of spring water supply stations.

Meanwhile, it is also striving to lay trolley bus lines, renovate parks, pleasure grounds and the environment of streets and villages in a hygienic and cultured way, increase the passing capacity of rain-water and sewerage networks in the rainy season and eliminate the source of pollution. -0-
