Invincible KPA Navy

Pyongyang, August 28 (KCNA) -- Today (August 28) is the Navy Day.

The DPRK people are extending warm congratulations and high tribute to the officers and men of the Navy of the Korean People's Army who are reliably defending the sea of the country.

After the national liberation, President Kim Il Sung led the struggle to found modern naval force together with several services.

In June 1946, he organized the maritime security force and appointed a site for the Maritime Security Officers Training School, a mother base for training cadres of the Navy. Then he named the regular naval force with the maritime security force as the mother the "Fleet of Korea" and declared the founding of the KPA Navy on August 28, 1949.

During the past Fatherland Liberation War, seamen of the KPA Navy buried the U.S. imperialists' heavy cruiser called a "moving islet" at sea with four torpedo boats and destroyed a light cruiser, making a military miracle to be specially recorded in the world history of sea battles. In the 1960s they seized the U.S. armed spy ship Pueblo and thus demonstrated the might of heroic KPA, slapping the face of U.S. imperialism.

The Navy of the KPA, which has worked miracles and myths of victory with the matchless fighting spirit, making the imperialist pirates shudder, is now greeting the greatest heyday of its development under the care of respected Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un.

Under the energetic guidance of the General Secretary who is ushering in a great new era of strengthening the navy, the naval force of the KPA has developed into an invincible service.

The appearance of new-type destroyers in the wake of the launching ceremony of the Korean-style tactical nuclear attack submarine has boosted the heroic militant spirit of our seamen and injected vitality into them.

Seeing the new-type destroyers and naval warriors of new generation who will guarantee peace in the sea of the country by developing the naval power in a more comprehensive and accelerated way, the DPRK people are convinced that the dignity and stamina of the DPRK's Navy will be more fully displayed under the guidance of the great brilliant commander. -0-
