Premier Pak Thae Song Inspects Various Sectors

Pyongyang, October 20 (KCNA) -- Pak Thae Song, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, inspected various sectors of the national economy.

At the Chollima Steel Complex, the premier stressed the importance of the duty of the complex in carrying out the new long-term goals set forth at the Ninth Congress of the WPK, calling for further improving the operating efficiency of the equipment, introducing rational methods of iron production in conformity with the actual conditions and actively tapping and mobilizing reserves and ways for increased production and economy.

At the Unjong Farm in Sonchon County and the Ilhae Farm in Jongju City which have reaped a rich harvest by selecting right crops and cultivating them in a sci-tech way, the premier encouraged officials and agricultural workers who performed great feats in this year's farming. He said that the successes made in the agricultural sector clearly prove the validity and vitality of the Party's agricultural policy on steadily raising the level of putting farming on a scientific and intensive basis.

Learning about the grain processing and storage capacity of the Yomju County Grain Management Station, he called for stepping up the technical upgrading of the rice-cleaning process and the selection process on the principle of raising the rate of cleaned rice output and reducing the cost and actively conducting the work to build a modern grain processing base to contribute to improving the diet of the residents.

At the Tongnim Mining Machine Factory, he called for directing efforts to technical management and equipment management to standardize its products and laying solid material and technical foundations to develop and produce new-type efficient machinery and equipment.

The field consultative meetings discussed the issue of ensuring sufficient supply of raw and other materials needed for steel production by relevant sectors and units, the issue of giving precedence to the designing of the objects and supply of materials in the manufacture of machinery and equipment, the issue of actively enlisting the creative enthusiasm and activeness of the members of the three revolution teams dispatched to the relevant units, etc., and took relevant measures. -0-
