Young People in DPRK Volunteer for Service at Major Worksites
Pyongyang, October 10 (KCNA) -- Tens of young people in South Phyongan Province of the DPRK have volunteered to work at difficult and labor consuming posts of socialist construction in response to the call of the Workers' Party of Korea.
Those in Sunchon and Kaechon cities and Mundok and Pukchang counties decided to become members of coal-mine youth shock brigades.
Those in the cities of Phyongsong and Anju vowed to work at raw material bases and construction brigades, and those in the counties of Songchon and Yangdok made up their minds to become members of the work-teams which maintain mountain passes.
A meeting was held in the city of Phyongsong on October 8 to congratulate those young volunteers.
Present there were officials concerned, youth league officials and youth and students in the city.
Certificates were conferred on the volunteers before congratulatory and other speeches were made.
Young people gave the volunteers a pep talk, presenting bouquets of flowers to them. -0-
