DPRK Premier Inspects Several Sectors of National Economy

Pyongyang, September 29 (KCNA) -- Pak Thae Song, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and premier of the DPRK Cabinet, inspected various sectors of the national economy.

The premier visited the Unryul and Jaeryong mines, the iron ore production bases in the western part of the country, and acquainted himself in detail with the deposits of ore and the state of mining and maintaining and reinforcing production systems, stressing the importance of the missions assumed by the mines in attaining the goal of iron production set forth by the Party.

He stressed the need for the mines to take measures for the removal of the earth and draining of water and increase the production of iron ore by introducing efficient mining methods as required by the Party's policy and push ahead with the work to investigate and confirm the deposits of ore in detail.

Going round the Kumsan Farm in Unryul County and the township farm and the Samjigang Farm in Jaeryong County and other agricultural production units, he stressed the need to increase the proportion of mechanized farming to finish rice harvest, threshing, winter wheat and barley planting in the right time and widely popularize the farming methods in which the advantages have been proved in this year's farming.

Learning about the power production at the Pyongyang Thermal Power Plant, he stressed the need to finish the overhaul of turbine generators and boilers ahead of schedule, increase the output of per generator and put main efforts into operating the equipment at full capacity to steadily increase the power production.

He underscored the need for the officials of the Pyongyang Rubber Factory to further improve the production and management and put spurs to the building of new production processes, regarding the mental power of the masses and science and technology as the lifeline of the development of the unit, thus ensuring the quality production of various types of rubber goods necessary for various sectors of the national economy.

The field consultative meetings discussed the issue of further strengthening the relations and cooperation between the sci-tech sector and production units, the issue of improving the supply service for the employees and the issue of reducing the power consumption of the power plants to the maximum and took relevant measures. -0-
