Tongnim Falls Crowded with People in Summer

Pyongyang, August 27 (KCNA) -- Many visitors are enjoying themselves at the cultural recreation grounds and tourist resorts in the midst of summer.

Many tourists visit Tongnim Falls in Kogunyong-ri, Tongnim County, North Phyongan Province to enjoy shower stimulation under cascades.

For picturesque waterfalls, ambient air containing anion and cascade stimulation therapy, the place is crowded with many visitors every summer. Visitors say that it seems they have all their diseases cured and get ten years younger for their holiday there.

The annual average temperature in the area is 9.1°C and the annual average precipitation is about 1 053 mm.

The Tongnim Falls are only about 5 metres high but they are famous for their fast and strongly falling water. They are also called "Okpho" for its clear pearl-like water.

Visitors can see a dragon-shaped rock and a screen-like rock at the top of the falls, alongside a saddle-shaped rock at their foot. Around the falls there grow many pine, oak and maple trees adding seasonal beauty to the falls.

The scenic area has been spruced up as a tourist and holiday resort for public health and leisure activities. -0-
