Successes Made in Educational and Scientific Research at Kim Il Sung

Over the past 10-odd years, the university has written and created over 820 kinds of textbooks and more than 1 260 new teaching methods, produced a large number of holders of academic degrees and titles and set up 10 centers for experimental education and at least 230 experimental and practical rooms on a modern basis, thus powerfully leading the overall education and scientific and technological development of the country.
The social sciences sector of the university has played a leading role in putting the revolutionary ideas of the respected General Secretary on an academic, systematic and unified basis, widely explained and proved the validity and vitality of the Party's policies and written and published hundreds of kinds of books on the greatness and ideology and theory of the peerlessly great men and a lot of reference books, textbooks and essays.
Achievements of great significance in pioneering the realm of world-wide basic science, developing hi-tech products, building an economic power and improving the people's standard of living have been made in the field of natural science.
During the Eighth term of the Party Central Committee, the university was turned into a research-type one, at which the integration of education, scientific research and production was realized, and tens of faculties and courses developed into top-class ones.
The university has made its students participate in the scientific research from the regular course to prepare themselves as development- and creation-oriented talents and those of practical technologies. It made achievements in carrying out scores of priority research projects. And many teachers and researchers published valuable academic papers in prestigious international academic journals.
It produced at least ten DPRK's best scientists and technicians and hundreds of academic title and degree holders who won the title of the February 16 Science and Technology Prize. Among over 2 660 holders of academic degree are more than 100 doctors in their twenties and thirties.
