DPRK People's Custom of Using Wild Fruit

Pyongyang, October 11 (KCNA) -- People in the DPRK mountainous areas are now busy gathering wild fruits.

The custom of using wild fruit is traditional in the DPRK as its territory is mostly mountainous.

This custom was created in the course of using freshness and medical ingredients of wild fruits.

North Phyongan, Jagang, North Hwanghae and Kangwon provinces and other mountainous areas gathered lots of wild fruits to contribute to improving the local people's living standards.

Foodstuff factories have been built in different parts of the country under the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea ushering in a new era of regional transformation. Those factories produce various kinds of foodstuffs with wild fruits.

This custom was registered as a part of the national intangible cultural heritage in August. -0-
