Mass Movements of Trade Union Organizations Brisk in DPRK

Pyongyang, August 2 (KCNA) -- The working class and members of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea are striving to attain a new long-term goal set forth at the Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Officials of the trade union organizations of the Tokchon Area Coal Mining Complex and the Sunchon Area Youth Coal Mining Complex have encouraged coal miners to make innovations while organizing a socialist emulation among units and conducting on-the-spot motivation activities. As a result, the high-speed tunneling platoons of the Seventh Pit of the Jenam Coal Mine and the First Pit of the Ryongdae Youth Coal Mine carried out their plans for July ahead of schedule.

The primary trade union organization of the Phunggok Youth Coal Mine under the Pukchang Area Youth Coal Mining Complex launched a technical innovation movement to raise the blasting efficiency and increase the amount of coal mining per shift, thus contributing to overfulfilling its monthly production plan by 140 percent.

Officials of the trade union organizations of the Sariwon Tractor Parts Factory and the Sariwon Knitwear Factory have set a high goal for socialist emulation and boosted the masses' spirit of emulation through the ideological work to ensure the full operation of equipment.

Conducting mass movements including multi-loom and multi-spindle tending campaign, dozens of trade union members of the Kusong Textile Mill fulfilled their yearly national economic plans and over 140 workers of the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Textile Mill fulfilled their yearly plans.

The Unpha Mine, Nyongbyon Silk Mill and the Sukchon County Daily Necessities Factory are also conducting the collective innovation movement. -0-
