Onpho Working People's Holiday Camp

Pyongyang, July 11 (KCNA) -- In Kyongsong County, North Hamgyong Province of the DPRK, there is the Onpho Working People's Holiday Camp, well-known throughout the country for its famous Onpho hot spring which is good for human health and treatment.

The Onpho hot spring area is located in a cosy valley surrounded by mountains. The area covered with thick forest has a wholesome climate. It is also a scenic place where hot springs gush out in all seasons.

This strong alkaline hot spring has high pharmacological and therapeutic effects as it contains ingredients good for strengthening blood circulation and promoting metabolism.

The Onpho Working People's Holiday Camp has turned into a monumental edifice representing the country's hot spring culture, opening up a new sphere of cultural and emotional life for the people.

On July 11, 2018, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the then Onpho Holiday Camp. He stressed that the camp should be turned into a comprehensive service centre and a medical service centre equipped with all service networks so that people can have a good rest and receive hot spring treatment and that it should be built as a model of the hot spring holiday camps without an equal in our country by making its design unique to the characteristics of the hot spring area.

Jo Mi Suk, manager of the holiday camp, said that the camp with nearly 80 year-long history has undergone a radical change in its appearance and that the visitors will regain their health and vigor in the peculiar emotion of the scenic spot and feel pride and joy of life.

The camp is now crowded with working people enjoying a pleasant recreation life or taking hot-spring cure and climate treatment. -0-
