Chongsokjong - Scenic Spot in DPRK

Pyongyang, October 31 (KCNA) -- Chongsokjong, located on the seashore of the township of Thongchon County, Kangwon Province, the DPRK, is well known as Kumgang in Thongchon for its amazing cliffs and rocks.

Visitors can feast their eyes on pillar-shaped rocks standing and lying on the sea.

They can also see rocks of various shapes like those in Mt Kumgang.

A long line of cliffs is reminiscent of beautiful cloth with pleats. In particular the four pillar-shaped rocks, called Sasonbong, is spectacular.

There is Kumran Cave, a natural monument, in the area.

Petrels and guillemots have their nests at those cliffs and the area is swarming with sea gulls and others.

Visitors can also see fresh and green pine trees growing between rocks and waves splashing on the rocks.

The nocturnal seascape in the moonlight is also wonderful. -0-
