Presentation of Design Ideas on Fixtures in Field of Libraries Held

Pyongyang, September 17 (KCNA) -- A national presentation of design ideas on fixtures in the field of libraries took place from Sept. 14 to 16, under the sponsorship of the Korean Library Association of the C.C., General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea.

Present at it on the theme of "Intelligent library and home-production of fixtures" were scientists, technicians and graduate students from over 40 units including Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, Pyongyang University of Architecture, the State Academy of Sciences, the Grand People's Study House, provincial sci-tech libraries and city and county Mirae e-libraries.

There were a question-and-answer session and speeches on the proposals for settling the problems arising in the preparations to operate libraries at the leisure complexes under construction in cities and counties.

Designs of bookshelf which can make rational use of the architectural structural elements, space-saving decorative stack, mobile book display stand for children and others were highly appreciated as they are helpful to improving the operation of sci-tech dissemination bases and ensuring their practical development.

During the presentation, there was a lecture on the system of book service at the city and county leisure complexes. -0-
