Remains of Martyrs Buried at Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery

Pyongyang, September 24 (KCNA) -- Remains of the martyrs, who dedicated themselves to faithfully upholding the ideas and leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea, were buried at the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery in Sinmi-ri.

Ri Pyong Sam, winner of the Title of DPRK Labour Hero, Order of Kim Il Sung and Order of Kim Jong Il, was the former advisor to the then Political Bureau of the Korean People's Internal Security Forces. He made great contributions to establishing the unified command system of the Party Central Committee in the public security organs and training the service personnel of the KPISF as the frontline soldiers defending the revolution, social system and people.

Choe Kyong Song, a former general of the Korean People's Army, is the winner of Order of Kim Il Sung and Order of Kim Jong Il. He was a true military commander who faithfully upheld the WPK's cause of building a powerful army.

War veteran Ji Yong Chun, a former lecturer of the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum and winner of the Title of DPRK Hero and Order of Kim Il Sung, and Ryom Chol Song, a former KPA general and winner of Order of Kim Il Sung, are also among the martyrs.

Jo Kyong Sun, former vice department director of the Central Committee of the WPK, tangibly contributed to the development of Juche-based cinematic art. He is the winner of the Title of DPRK Labour Hero, Order of Kim Il Sung and Kim Il Sung Prize.

Prof. and Dr. Kim Ung Chol, former director of the Nano Engineering Branch of the State Academy of Sciences, contributed to the development of self-supporting economy and improvement of people's living standards. He is the winner of the Title of DPRK Labour Hero and Order of Kim Il Sung.

Ceremonies of burying the remains of the martyrs took place at the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery.

Speakers at the ceremonies said that the life and merits of the martyrs are shining forever thanks to respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who takes care of the destiny of the revolutionary soldiers to the end.

The remains of the martyrs were buried and the participants laid wreaths, bouquets and flowers at the gravestones of the martyrs and paid silent tribute. -0-
