University and College Graduates Volunteer to Work at Local Schools in DPRK

Pyongyang, August 25 (KCNA) -- This year, more than 100 graduates from universities of education and teachers training colleges in different parts of the DPRK have volunteered to work as teachers at schools on islands and in mountainous areas and farm villages.

After leaving their beloved native places, alumnae from Haeju Kim Jong Thae University of Education and Sinuiju Cha Kwang Su University of Education have dedicated themselves to the education at senior middle schools on solitary islands.

A graduate from a teachers training college in the city of Hoeryong, who is a discharged soldier, volunteered to go with his family to Ryongchon Branch School of Wonryong Technical Senior Middle School and work as a teacher there.

Graduates from Phyongsong University of Education and Phyongsong Teachers Training College, too, decided to become teachers at Huksu Technical Senior Middle School in a mountain village of Taehung County.

An alumna from Wonsan Ri Su Dok Teachers Training College, who won Kim Il Sung scholarship and the University Student Scientific Research Prize, and others volunteered for teachers at Hero Haegumgang Technical Senior Middle School in Kosong County.

Among the volunteers are graduates from Wonsan, Hamhung and Songdo universities of education and Sariwon Teachers Training College. -0-
