Foodstuff Factories in N. Phyongan Province Develop New Products

Pyongyang, October 9 (KCNA) -- Modern foodstuff factories, newly built in cities and counties of North Phyongan Province, the DPRK, develop and produce various kinds of local specialties, according to Rodong Sinmun.

The Unsan County Foodstuff Factory has produced various popular pine-nut foodstuffs such as candies, bread and cakes.

The Kusong City Foodstuff Factory has steadily increased the variety of products including crataegi fructus juice and wild-grape jam. Its products are popular among not only the local people, but also Pyongyang citizens.

The Kujang County Foodstuff Factory produces wild-fruit healthy fermented soft drinks and various kinds of soybean paste as local specialties.

The Yomju County Foodstuff Factory has expanded the variety of products, including peculiar soy sauce with a savor of shellfish, in the past few months alone.

The Taegwan County Foodstuff Factory has produced such local specialties as preserved brackens, flowering ferns, anise and aralia shoots, and the demands for the products are on the rise every day. -0-
