Campaign to Prevent Damage Caused by Harmful Insects

Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- The farms in Ryanggang Province of the DPRK take foresighted measures to prevent damage to the crops by harmful insects in order to produce safe yields.

Researchers of the provincial agricultural science institute are informing the farms of technical knowledge so that they can select an effective agrochemical for pest control and choose the right time and method of its application.

The farms have improved the nutrition of potato plants by using organic fertilizers containing various micronutrients.

They set up additional observation posts and strengthened the monitoring and forecasting to prevent damage caused by harmful insects while increasing the production of an effective agrochemical to prevent potato blight.

They have also regularly sprayed herb extracts good for pest control and plant growth, creating favorable environment for the growth of potato, wheat and barley.

The farms are growing all crops healthily by applying nutrients and photosynthetic accelerants on a regular basis while organizing effective technical courses and demonstrations. -0-
