Scientists and Technicians Strive for Regional Development

Pyongyang, September 19 (KCNA) -- Members of the February 17 Shock Brigade of Scientists and Technicians in the DPRK are playing an active role at the worksites for implementing the regional development policy in the new era, according to Rodong Sinmun.

They remodeled more than 10 kinds of paper production equipment in a rational way, made a new device for increasing the capacity of recycling waste fiber and developed a technology for producing high-quality laundry soap packet paper.

They also worked out technical specifications for producing various processed kelp and designed and manufactured printers for packaging products in a matter of one month and sent them to city and county foodstuff factories.

They finished the manufacture of 10-odd kinds of prototype equipment, including various pumps and woodworking tools, in a short span of time and laid a foundation for designing and manufacturing various kinds of printing equipment necessary for various sectors of the national economy.

They are directing efforts to the characteristic test of a prototype for the high-performance milk comprehensive analyzer, as well as the research on improving its technical performance.

Remarkable progress has been made in resolving the shortage of sugar, oil, spices and pigments. -0-
