Joint Seminar Held in Brazil

Pyongyang, October 23 (KCNA) -- A joint seminar took place in Brazil through a video conferencing on Oct. 10 to mark the 81st founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Attending the seminar on the theme of "81 years of the Workers' Party of Korea: independence, sovereignty and socialism" were personages of political parties, organizations and institutions, including the Brazilian Communist Party, the Brazil-Korea Friendship Association, the Brazilian Center for Peace and Solidarity with Peoples and the Brazilian Center for the Study of the Juche Idea.

Also present were personages of political parties, organizations and Juche idea study organizations of Nepal, Bangladesh, Türkiye, Romania, Belgium, Britain and other countries and the chief of the Group for International Solidarity with the DPRK.

Congratulatory messages from political parties, organizations and personages of different countries were read out and congratulatory speeches were made at the seminar.

Presiding over the seminar, the secretary general of the Brazilian Center for the Study of the Juche Idea referred to the significance of the current seminar in studying and disseminating the Juche idea, introducing the DPRK's successes made in socialist construction and strengthening the international solidarity with the Korean people struggling for defending their sovereignty.

Then speeches were made.

The chairman of the Brazilian Center for the Study of the Juche Idea, the chairman of the Brazilian Center for Peace and Solidarity with Peoples and other speakers referred to the glorious course of the Workers' Party of Korea spanning several decades, the leadership role of the party in socialist construction and the importance of defending the state power and strengthening international solidarity with the Korean people.

The outstanding leadership of Comrade Kim Il Sung and Comrade Kim Jong Il was a fundamental factor that strengthened the Party and made it possible for Korean-style socialism to advance without any vacillation despite the imperialists' vicious sanctions and pressure and the world-wide political upheaval, they said, explaining the great significance of the publication of the historic Pyongyang Declaration in April 1992.

In combination with the popular policies recently adopted in the DPRK, they introduced the fact that the WPK is guiding the people along the road of the overall development of socialism under the leadership of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

The historical experience of the WPK proved how important it is to consistently adhere to the principle of independence and socialism, they said, stressing that the single-minded unity of the whole society centered on the leader is the source of strength that enabled the DPRK to smash every challenge of the hostile forces and always emerge victorious. -0-
