Premier of DPRK Cabinet Pak Thae Song Meets Chinese President Xi Jinping

Pyongyang, July 11 (KCNA) -- Pak Thae Song, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and premier of the DPRK Cabinet, who is on an official visit to China by leading the party and government delegation of the DPRK, met Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and president of the People's Republic of China, at the Great Hall of the People on the afternoon of July 10.

Pak Thae Song courteously conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes from the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un to Comrade Xi Jinping.

Expressing deep thanks for this, Comrade Xi Jinping asked the premier to convey his warmest comradely greetings and best wishes to Comrade Kim Jong Un.

Pak Thae Song said that the DPRK and China have supported and closely cooperated with each other on the road for independence against imperialism and for socialism and powerfully propelled the socialist cause in the spirit of the treaty of friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance and firmly defended the regional and global peace. In particular, the DPRK-China Pyongyang summit in June last marked a historic occasion in clearly demonstrating the invariability of the DPRK-China friendship and setting a new milestone in the development of the bilateral relations, he stressed.

Under the deep care of the top leaders of the two parties and two countries, the events for marking the anniversary of the conclusion of treaty are to be held with splendor this year, strikingly demonstrating once again the strategic character of the DPRK-China friendship, the premier noted, saying that the DPRK would as ever do its best to actively promote the revolutionary unity, the co-prosperity and development and the socialist cause of the two countries at a new high stage as required by the new era.

Comrade Xi Jinping noted that through his recent state visit to the DPRK, he, together with Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un, provided the strategic guidelines for consolidating and developing the traditional China-DPRK friendship. The China-DPRK Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance laid an important political and legal foundation for consolidating the militant friendship forged by the peoples of the two countries at the cost of their blood, he said, adding that it is a clear feature of the consistent China-DPRK relations to share friendship and destiny and defend and help each other generation after generation.

Saying that the relations between the two parties and the two countries should advance along with the times, consolidate the socialist cause all the time and ensure that the great China-DPRK friendship is handed down through generations, he expressed the willingness to strengthen the strategic cooperation between the two countries and firmly defend the sovereignty, security and development interests so as to create an environment favorable for advancing along the road of socialism.
