Rodong Sinmun Calls for Advancing and Making Leap Forward through Emulation

Pyongyang, August 5 (KCNA) -- With an upward trend in effecting uninterrupted transformation, the spirit of fresh innovation is now running high in all fields of socialist construction. The present reality requires the whole society to take part in a vigorous emulation, says Rodong Sinmun Wednesday in an editorial.

Emulation is a shortcut to the rapid progress and a key to the creation of miracles. This is the precious truth our state proved in the course of its development.

In the past five years, the whole country was overflowing with the spirit of innovation, creation and advance amid the fierce emulation throughout the society and the motherland underwent changes beyond recognition, offering a striking contrast between yesterday and today. And the historic cause for comprehensive development of socialist construction could successfully pass through its first stage, along with the advance of all regions, sectors and units in emulation with each other. This is an honor won by our ideals and faith and our strength and efforts as well as a clear proof of the vitality of emulation movement.

Today the comprehensive development of socialism has entered a new high stage, and we are faced with heavy and huge tasks. This reality urgently requires all the sectors, units and people to conduct a more dynamic socialist emulation among them. Only when the enthusiasm for emulation grows higher, can we make eye-opening miracles in the struggle for comprehensive national prosperity, sharing successes and experience with each other, transferring them to others and bringing about collective innovations while redoubling efforts to leap higher. Now is the time for all the sectors, units and people to accept emulation as a vital requirement and intensify it for mutual development and thus bring about a new proud era of national prosperity.
