Pyongyang Thermal Power Plant Increases Production

Pyongyang, August 31 (KCNA) -- The Pyongyang Thermal Power Plant in the DPRK has increased the electricity production by 1.1 times more than last year and saved a lot of coal every month.

The power plant established a preventive repair system giving priority to quality and put the operation of the electric power system on a normal footing, bringing about an upsurge in production.

It set the amount of coal consumption and air supply scientifically and took measures to prevent internal cold air infiltration into the boiler system to raise the combustion efficiency and increase the steam output.

It carried out its schedule by introducing valuable technological innovation proposals, improving the vacuum degree of condenser and raising the output power of generators.

It secured repair tools and spare parts, ensured the normal operation of unloading equipment and conveyors, checked and repaired automation devices and activated the production of desalted water. -0-
