Irrigation Facilities Improved across DPRK

Pyongyang, August 29 (KCNA) -- All provinces, cities and counties in the DPRK put spurs to remodeling and modernizing irrigation-related factories and enterprises planned for this year under phased goals, according to Rodong Sinmun.

South Hwanghae Province is updating the Haeju Irrigation Machine Factory.

The province has finished the vast project of remodeling its buildings in a short span of time with well prepared building force, giving precedence to the supply of cement, steel and other materials. Technical upgrading of production lines is proceeding as scheduled.

Modernization of the Wonsan Irrigation Machine Factory is under way in Kangwon Province.

The province has completed the renovation of its production buildings and is pushing ahead with installing medium frequency induction furnaces and heat treatment furnaces at the final stage.

The Hamhung Irrigation Machine Factory is also changing its appearance.

South Hamgyong Province has overhauled the existing equipment in the factory and renovated its workshops producing various kinds of pumps, sci-tech learning space and other buildings.

Renovation of irrigation management stations is progressing apace in cities and counties across the country. -0-
