WPK's Emblem Clearly Shows Character of Popular Masses
Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- A foreign personage said with excitement that there are many communist party leaders in the world, but only President
The emblem of the Workers' Party of Korea was personally drawn by President
In the days when he developed the party into a mass party of the working people after national liberation (August 15, 1945), the President personally initiated the creation of the Party emblem. He referred to the shortcomings of the Party emblems depicting only workers and peasants except intellectuals, and made sure that a brush was drawn together with a hammer and a sickle.
He saw to it that a brush, instead of a pen, was drawn as a symbol of intellectuals and the hammer and sickle used by Korean workers and peasants were drawn.
Looking at the design of the emblem presented by creators, he also made sure that the hammer, sickle and brush crossed each other at the midpoint of their handles in order to symbolize the unity and cohesion of the working masses including the working class, peasants and intellectuals.
Saying that the brush should be placed in the middle slightly higher than others, he explained that it means workers and peasants should acquire high knowledge and cultural level and make a tangible contribution to the building of a prosperous and civilized independent and sovereign state in the future, personally drawing the emblem of the Party.
Everyone still recalls with deep emotion that the design of the Party emblem drawn by the President reflected his unshakable faith and will to build our Party into the people's one taking care of the destiny of the people to the end.
Respected Comrade
