Brisk Campaign for Expanding Solar Power Capacity

Pyongyang, October 6 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang Municipality is stepping up the work to ensure the normal operation of solar power stations and create new generating capacity.

Mangyongdae, Rangnang, Taedonggang, Tongdaewon and Songyo districts have operated solar power stations in a scientific and technological way to supply electricity to residential quarters, institutions and enterprises.

Kangdong County installed a lot of solar panels in different parts of the county to create the electricity production capacity of hundreds of kilowatts.

The Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Textile Mill, the Ryuwon Footwear Factory, the Pyongyang Pharmaceutical Factory, the Pyongyang Dental Hygiene Products Factory and other factories have run solar panels in a rational way.

The municipality has established a solar power generation system with a capacity of thousands of kilowatts until now, putting electricity from solar power stations into the national power system. -0-
