National Sci-tech Presentation in Sector of Basic Sciences Held in DPRK

Pyongyang, October 24 (KCNA) -- A national sci-tech presentation in the sector of basic sciences took place under the sponsorship of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea from October 20 to 23.

The presentation was held divided into panels of mathematics, physics, chemistry, mechanics, laser and geography. Teachers, researchers and graduate students of over 30 units including Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, Pyongyang University of Education No. 1 and the State Academy of Sciences presented over 500 papers presented.

Highly appreciated there were the research proposals on the correlation between the origination of matter in space and space observation, the improvement of the serviceable life of graphite electrode for electric furnace by spraying aluminum solution and the production technology of the potassium sulfate fertilizer by using potassic feldspar.

Certificates and prizes were awarded to the participants at the presentation. -0-
