President Kim Il Sung, Legendary Hero

Pyongyang, August 15 (KCNA) -- Today is the 81st anniversary of Korea's liberation from the colonial rule of Japanese imperialism.

August 15, 1945 is a historic day of great significance not only for the Korean people but also for the world people.

A foreign personage said that the reason he attaches a special importance to Korea's liberation and correlates it with the world is because Korea's liberation had decisive implications on the global change as well as on the independent development of the Korean people. He added that President Kim Il Sung stood at the centre of such historical change and the 20th century was a process in which the world had changed based on the idea of the President.

President Kim Il Sung set forth the Juche-oriented revolutionary line at the Kalun meeting in 1930 and led the arduous anti-Japanese war to victory despite hardships without support of state-backing home front and regular army and experience worthy of reference to in the guerrilla struggle, thus achieving the great historic cause of national liberation.

The brilliant victory in the anti-Japanese revolutionary war instilled confidence and courage into many oppressed peoples of the world who were groaning under colonial domination and longing for freedom and independence.

Peoples of many countries had won national independence through the struggle against domination and subjugation by the imperialists and colonists.

State leaders of Cuba, Vietnam, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and other countries praised the anti-Japanese armed struggle organized and led by the President as a precious example of the national liberation struggle in colonies that the peoples in colonies should follow in their struggle for national liberation.

The world progressives have held colorful events every year on the occasion of the day of Korea's liberation to praise the immortal exploits of the President who opened up a new era of the national liberation struggle in colonies. -0-
