DPRK Premier Inspects Various Sectors

Pyongyang, August 18 (KCNA) -- Pak Thae Song, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and premier of the Cabinet of the DPRK, inspected various sectors of the national economy.

At the Huichon Precision Machine Plant, the premier encouraged the workers in the machine plant in their vigorous drive for production in hearty response to the decisions of the Ninth Congress of the WPK and called for raising the quality of products and productivity while paying constant attention to consolidating the material and technical foundations, bearing in mind the importance of the factory's duty in developing the country's vehicle-building industry.

In particular, he stressed the need for officials to enhance their responsibility and role in implementing the Party's decisions, further improve production and management while regarding the spiritual strength of the masses and science and technology as the lifeline of the development of the unit and actively introduce valuable and innovative inventions based on an advanced technology.

At the Jonchon Rock Drill Factory, Pak Thae Song called for carrying out the assigned production plan without fail by raising the utilization rate of equipment in keeping with the increased demand for rock-drills in various sectors of the national economy and effectively developing and producing new-type rock-drills with high performance.

Going round various workshops and newly-built production processes of the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Textile Mill, he stressed the need for the employees to improve the efficiency of labour by raising the level of technical skill and mastering the equipment and thus steadily expand the successes in production.

Discussed at field consultative meetings were issues of directing efforts to acquiring and introducing new technology through sci-tech learning space, strengthening the ranks of technicians and skilled workers and fully supplying equipment and materials necessary for developing new products and producing them.

Earlier, Pak Thae Song visited the Salt Industry Bureau to learn about its production state and discussed the problems arising in production and took necessary measures. -0-
