Technical Modernization of Roads Propelled in Jagang Province

Pyongyang, October 2 (KCNA) -- Jagang Province of the DPRK is pushing ahead with a project for improving roads.

The province worked out detailed phased plans for modernizing roads in a few coming years and, on this basis, scrupulously organized the formation of construction forces and the supply of materials and equipment.

The main efforts are directed to ensuring the safety and flatness of roads in conformity with the mountainous topographical conditions.

This year, the province completed the pavement of main roads in more than 80 km-long sections and the construction of over 100 000 square meters of retaining walls and built new road facilities. -0-
