Ceremony of Unveiling Tablet to Group of Sculptures of KPA Soldiers Held in Vietnam

Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- A ceremony of unveiling the tablet installed at the platform where the group of sculptures of soldiers of the Korean People's Army is to be erected in the outdoor exhibition area of the Vietnam Military History Museum in Hanoi, the capital city of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, was held on the spot on Sept. 25.

Present at the ceremony were a delegation of the DPRK Ministry of National Defence led by Vice-Minister Ryo Chol Ung which is on a visit to Vietnam and DPRK Ambassador to Vietnam Ri Sung Guk and his embassy members.

Attending there were Deputy Minister of Defence Nguyen Truong Thang, Deputy Head of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army Le Quang Minh, and other officials concerned of the Ministry of Defence, the General Political Department and the Vietnam Military History Museum.

On either side of the platform were guards of honor of the Vietnamese People's Army.

Ryo Chol Ung and Nguyen Truong Thang unveiled the tablet.

Written in the tablet are the letters reading "Feelings of Friendship between Vietnam and DPRK" and the explanation board are articles that Vietnam and the DPRK established diplomatic relations in January 1950, the DPRK rendered material and moral assistance and helped the Vietnamese people in the period of the anti-U.S. resistance to national salvation by dispatching experts, thus contributing to the victory of the Vietnamese revolution, and the combat spirit and self-sacrificing spirit displayed by Korean soldiers are a noble and beautiful symbol of the good international unity and contributed to the consolidation of the friendly relations between Vietnam and the DPRK.

Flower baskets and bouquets were laid before the platform.

Written in the ribbons of the flower baskets were letters "We pay tribute to the soldiers of the Korean People's Army" and "From the Ministry of Defence of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam".

Meanwhile, the DPRK delegation of the Ministry of the National Defence visited the memorial district for the fallen soldiers of the Korean People's Army in Bac Ninh City in the northern part of Vietnam and laid a wreath before the memorial monument. -0-
