Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Receives Letter from Participants in Int'l Scientific Conference

Pyongyang, October 1 (KCNA) -- Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, received a letter from the participants in the international scientific conference marking the 80th founding anniversary of Kim Il Sung University on September 30.

The letter expressed deep thanks to respected HE Kim Jong Un who provided a significant gathering for university scholars from different countries and those of Kim Il Sung University to deepen the bonds of friendship and further expand exchange and cooperation in developing science, technology and education and paid close attention to its successful holding.

The conference, held under the theme of "Development of science and education and social progress", marked a significant occasion in further strengthening the exchange, friendship and cooperation between universities of different countries and Kim Il Sung University to more dynamically promote the progress of human society with the development of science and technology and education, it said.

The letter noted that during the conference, its participants came to know well about the warm love and trust of HE Kim Jong Un who has treasured and put forward scientists and educators and about the policy of the DPRK government to build a promising country which makes a leap forward by dint of science and technology and firmly guarantees the future by dint of education.

Through the conference, the scholars of different countries came to have a firm common understanding that it is very beneficial to the development of science and technology and the development of education for the progress of human society to steadily expand the many-sided academic exchange and contact with Kim Il Sung University, it said.

The letter added that the participants would strive to further develop the many-sided exchange and cooperation with Kim Il Sung University and various educational and scientific institutions of the DPRK on the basis of the excellent success and experience gained at the recent conference. -0-
