Members of DIU Remembered with Dawn of Korean Revolution

Pyongyang, October 15 (KCNA) -- The passionate faithful members of the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU) brought about the dawn of the Korean revolution, remaining faithful to the ideas and leadership of President Kim Il Sung. They are always remembered by the country and the people as model revolutionaries who created the tradition of genuine loyalty and unity.

The DIU, the first new-type revolutionary vanguard organization in Korea, was formed in Heitian on October 17, 1926.

The formation of the DIU was a noteworthy event that opened up a great trend of the Juche era, a new era of history in which the Korean people, regarding independence as their life and soul, declared a decisive struggle against Japanese imperialism and carved out their destiny independently and creatively.

President Kim Il Sung remembered with deep emotion Choe Chang Gol as an unforgettable revolutionary comrade-in-arms who fought together from the first days of the revolutionary struggle. His life was a model of the true revolutionary soldier.

Among the first members of the DIU were Kang Pyong Son and Kye Yong Chun, who fought for the victory of the revolution under the trust of the President.

There were also Pyon Muk Song, who renamed himself Kim Won U with his pledge to always remain true to the President, and Ri Je U, who greatly encouraged the people by saying that "the liberation of Korea is sure to achieved under the guidance of Comrade Hanbyol (pen name of the President), the great leader of the nation," though he was arrested by the enemy.

Kim Hyok and Cha Kwang Su were passionate fighters of faith and obligation, who fought under the leadership of the President from the beginning of the Korean revolution.

The noble idea and precious tradition created by the passionate fighters of the DIU serve as a source of immortal viability for the ranks of the ongoing general onward march. -0-
